In this intimate group class of 6, you’ll learn how to weave traditional Krokbragd patterns on a 4-shaft loom. Inspired by Swedish rug weaving, this workshop explores the fundamentals of structure, drafting, and design for creating bold and colourful mug rugs.
What You’ll Learn
- Students will be sent a pdf with instructions on how to set up their own loom.
- How to read and analyze Krokbragd drafts.
- Weaving this traditional pattern structure on a 4-shaft loom.
- Designing and weaving two unique mug rugs.
- Techniques for colour mixing and visual rhythm.
Class Format
This is a two-day workshop:
- Day One: 9am–3pm (5 hrs)
- Day Two: 9am–3pm (5 hrs)

Materials
You will need your own 4/8 or 8/8 cotton yarn and 12 dent reed. Wool weft will be provided.

Prerequisite
This is a third-level beginner class. Students should be comfortable reading drafts and setting up a 4-shaft loom on their own.
