In this intimate group class, you’ll learn how to weave traditional Krokbragd patterns on a 4-shaft loom. Inspired by Swedish rug weaving, this workshop explores the fundamentals of structure, drafting, and design for creating bold and colourful mug rugs.
What You’ll Learn
- How to read and analyze Krokbragd drafts
- Weaving on a 4-shaft loom using traditional pattern structures
- Designing and weaving two unique mug rugs
- Techniques for colour mixing and visual rhythm
Class Format
This is a 2–3 day workshop. Choose from:
- 2-Day Format: For students bringing their own loom pre-warped
- 3-Day Format: Includes optional in-studio setup day
- Day One (Optional Setup): 10:00am–3:00pm
- Day Two: 9:00am–3:00pm
- Day Three: 9:00am–3:00pm

Materials
2-Day Participants: Bring your own 4/8 or 8/8 cotton yarn and 12 dent reed. Wool weft will be provided.
3-Day Participants: Materials are included in the registration fee.

Prerequisite
This is a third-level beginner class. Students should be comfortable reading drafts and setting up a 4-shaft loom.
