In this intimate group class of 6 students, you’ll explore the magic of double cloth weaving on a 4-shaft jack loom. Through hands-on instruction and guided drafting, you'll learn how to weave layered fabric structures and experiment with colour and texture.
What You’ll Learn
- Students will be sent a pdf with instructions on how to set up their own loom.
- Plain weave double cloth fundamentals.
- How to read and interpret double weave drafts.
- Techniques for colour variation and pick-up patterns.
- How to create texture and structure within a double cloth format.
- Finishing techniques for your sampler.
Class Format
This is a two-day workshop:
- Day One: 9am–3pm (5 hrs)
- Day Two: 9am–3pm (5 hrs)

You will need your own 4/8 cotton and 12 dent reed.

Prerequisite
This is a third-level beginner class. Students should be comfortable reading drafts and setting up a 4-shaft loom on their own.
