In this intimate group class of 4 students, you will learn how to weave a rag rug using recycled linens and clothing. This hands-on course is perfect for beginners and teaches all the foundational steps to weaving on a floor loom.
What You’ll Learn
- How to set up a floor loom from warping to tie-up
- Basic plain weave techniques
- Finishing techniques for your rug
- How to repurpose fabric into continuous weaving strips
Class Format
This is a two-day workshop. Choose from:
- Weekends: 9am–4pm both days (7 hrs/day)
- Weekdays: 10am–5pm both days (7 hrs/day)

Materials
You will be provided with 4/8 cotton yarn for the warp.
Please bring old clothing or linens to use as weft material. One twin-size sheet or approx. 2 yards of fabric is ideal.
Fabric should be cut into ½\"–1\" strips. If you're unsure, we’ll demonstrate how to prep your fabric on day one.

This is a beginner-friendly class and welcomes all levels of experience.
