Double Weave Cloth - Table/Floor Loom Weaving

This is a two-three day class:

• Day one - August 22 - 10am-4pm (6hrs) *optional

• Day two - August 24 - 9am-4pm (7hrs)

• Day three - August 25 - 9am-4pm (7hrs)

• Students will be sent a pdf with instructions on how to set up their own loom.

• If you would like to join the set up class at the studio on a floor loom or table loom, please sign up for the three day workshop. This option is available whether you are bringing your own table loom or if you need to use our looms in studio. If you would like to use one of our table looms, select it from the drop menu and pick it up at least a week before the class.

• We will discuss how the pattern drafts work and analyze how double cloth is created on a 4 shaft loom.

• Students will learn the basics of plain weave double cloth, a variation of colour play techniques, pick-up pattern design and how to create textural stitches, as well as finishing techniques for their sampler.

• Students who register for the 2-day workshop will need their own 4/8 cotton yarn and 10 dent reed. Students who register for the 3-day workshop will have materials included in their registration fee.

Prerequisite: This is a second level beginner weaving class and experience reading drafts and setting up 4 shafts looms is recommended.

You will receive an email reminder with more details about the workshop a week before the class date. If you do not finish your weaving within the class time, you can book extra weaving hours at $30/hr.
